We stumbled upon this little restaurant by chance. We were welcomed immediately by the delightful Maria who translated the menu for us. The food was so good we booked a second night. Carlos is a very talented chef. The food was superb, so tasty and well presented. There were also little extras such as home made crisps, schnapps and freshly cooked bread. All went down well with Alhambra beer. The bill was a shock to us as it was so reasonable! Thoroughly recommended and a huge thank you to Maria and Carlos for their care and attention true professionals.
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon dinner prepared by chef Carlos and served by Maria. All of the ingredients were top quality and fresh. For example, Carlos drives to Girona to purchase the seafood in person. The preparations were straightforward. Portions are generous-the steak should be issued with a warning—incredibly tasteful and impossibly voluminous. This was a most enjoyable dining experience. It’s deserving of a big detour.
This small restaurant is a genuine “Hidden Gem” Located in the centre of the hillside village of Murillo de Gallego and just a short 15 min walk from the nearest Spa Hotel it is one not to be missed. The relaxed ambience provides the perfect setting for a quality evening meal. Looked after by Emma who is front of house, on arrival you receive a complimentary glass of Cava and a small plate of appetisers. The menu while relatively limited is of high quality and very obviously all the food is freshly cooked to order. For starters, a main meal, a dessert and 2 glasses of wine you can expect to pay around £40 each. When taking into consideration the ambience, the quality of service, the complementaries and the overall high quality of the food this small restaurant offers excellent value for money. In short, a perfect setting, a relaxed ambience, quality service and high quality food. A point to note, as this is a traditional Spanish hillside village you should expect a short and relatively steep uphill walk.
We were pleasantly surprised when this restaurant at hotel in this tiny town turned out to be a gem. The room itself was beautifully decorated. The hostess was very friendly and spoke English so could explain all about the food. The star of my meal was the basil ice cream with big, tasty tomatoes. The mains and desserts were delicious too not to mention the extras such as gazpacho shots and lemoncello. The wine was also excellent as was breakfast the following morning. After three weeks of travelling in Spain we we’re excited to find interesting traditional cuisine with a modern twist. Well done to the couple who run it.
A wonderful corner in Murillo de Gállego that has just begun. Well prepared and high quality dishes. The charming new owners and the unbeatable space... a place with a lot of future.
