We kicked things off with an old fashioned each and shared the ham dip and sourdough appetizers. Let me tell you, that ham dip with the flatbread was DIVINE! It was like a warm, delicious deconstructed cheese ball—who wouldn’t love that? I didn't even need to try the sourdough to know it’s fantastic, especially since it comes from Simply Pure Sweets! I try to limit my barley intake, so I skipped the sourdough this time. Instead, I enjoyed a house salad before my main course (I just really love salad, haha), and it was delightful! The combination of strawberries and blue cheese was something I wouldn’t have thought to put together, but it was a perfect match. For my meal, I chose the Kansas City Strip with chimichurri and broccolini. Let's start with the steak—cooked to my preference of rare to medium-rare. It was a generous portion, and I ended up taking half of it home! The seasoning was fantastic, and while the chimichurri enhanced the flavor, it wasn’t necessary. The broccolini seemed to be cooked in sesame oil, which is not a choice I would typically make; I usually associate sesame oil with stir fries and Asian dishes. However, it was delightful! I might just have to try cooking broccolini that way at home. Of course, I ordered a second old fashioned, which was just as delicious as the first, and we lingered over our drinks for a while. Throughout our time there, Raul was attentive, making sure we had plenty of water. The firepit on the patio created a lovely atmosphere, and we likely would have stayed longer if we weren’t the type to head to bed early!
It was overall a good experience. The service was slow though as it took over 10 minutes for a server to greet us and take our drink order. The food was solid. The lamb was not cooked to my specifications, but it was seasoned well and delicious. The mashed potatoes were the highlight. Smooth, creamy, and lots of garlic. The drinks were awesome too. The margarita was strong, yet flavorful with a delicate balance of traditioal flavors. Definitely going back. The decor was very nice and it had an upscale atmosphere.
I came here to celebrate my birthday and Jason A took great care of us. He was very friendly, kind, and respectful, and always ready to help. He was the best waiter I could have asked for on my special day. Thank you, Jason A, you’re amazing!
Yesterday evening my wife and I were in the mood for steak, but we wanted something different and came across Steakhouse Five, for the first time. After reading the reviews and having a good laugh at the negativity with the few who claimed had problems,we figured that the negative reviews were from people that have no idea what their sticking in their mouth. My favorite was thecontext in how he called his partner, My Lady, a must read. The guy ordered a ribeye well done, why not eat a belt (read not forthe review but for entertainment purpose) smh If you don?t know food, this may not be the place for you, but this is truly thebest Steak experience my wife and I have had in all of Middle TN and we moved here sixteen years ago. Food: To say the food wasgood is an understatement. To start, our server Vong recommended an off menu appetizer, an oyster mushroom on grilled sourdough, which is totally our jam. I didn?t hesitate after the description and took his recommendation. The grilled sourdough breadelevated the oyster mushrooms in a silky umami cream sauce, over the top. What a perfect balance! My wife and I had the soupand salad course and we chose the mushroom soup and Caesar salad. The Mushroom Soup accompanied with goat cheese crostini, wassurprisingly lite and the Caesar Salad was unique when you have the red onions and grain mustard together. The presentationitself was stunning. We will definitely have this again! It was innovative and totally thought out perfectly? The steakentrées: We had two melt in your mouth prime grade boneless ribeyes with chimichurri and bourbon Dijon cream sauce that werelegit, my wife had the roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and I had the Brussels bacon. Our medium rare ribeyes were perfect andtasted outstanding! We read the wine and martini menu and it looked like the drinks paired very well with the menu. Our serverVong was next level attentive and gave us extraordinaire service from beginning to end. This plac
It?s a solid?. meh? while the steak is pretty amazing, at the price point I?d rather have literally any other steakhouse in town. Do NOT show up 10 15 minutes early with your reservation you?ll be snottily directed to return closer to your reservedtime. (Think David Spade, SNL as receptionist or airline attendant?. Buh BYE) Then, as opposed to any other steakhouse orrestaurant I?ve ever been to, across this beautiful country you have to order and pay for BREAD. The bread is cold and stalewhile the olive oil is rancid (use the butter). The next big disappointment was the failed interpretation of ?Truffle Fries? upon presentation I was hysterically laughing as I thought it was a joke. These are not fries, my dearest, snobby five starwannabe staff? this is what (us TN folk) call TATER WEDGES. This is more appropriate with fowl (yard bird or chicken), not asteakhouse that?s trying so hard to be something? The beer was served at near room temperature, and they forget or don?t hearrequests for refills? Summary: Service was abysmal; maybe I looked poor I don?t think I?ve ever felt anymore unwelcome in arestaurant. I still leave at least 20% gratuity. Appetizers are a joke, and suck. Drinks are in juice size glasses. STEAK WASAMAZING. I?d much rather have Ruth?s Chris or Longhorn. Maybe I?m just not trendy enough to pay a lot for trash food justyet? Oh and the dessert menu was utter disappointment.
