Contribute FeedbackMy husband was taken to this roadside inn (Venta) by Spanish friends who consider that it serves the best tapas in the area. As he was so impressed with the food and atmosphere my husband took me and 2 friends there for lunch. It is quite easy to find, just off the Lorca to Murcia motorway. The area is rather run down with graffiti and vandalized buildings nearby. However Venta Pereton is a well kept building with a large car park beside it. Although it was only 1 p.m. there were several people at the bar eating tapas. We were taken to a table for 4 and with our limited Spanish ordered tapas with the help from the very friendly staff. We had some typical local dishes, Murcian Salad, Russian Salad, Scrambled eggs with mushrooms, Migas with little sausages and peppers and Tortilla, all washed down with the house red wine. Plus our foodie friend, George also had a lamb kebab with sautee potatoes and a fried egg. Now it was 2 p.m. and all the surrounding tables were full with business people enjoying Menu del Dia, starters of salad or soup, followed by either chicken, lamb or paella plus dessert. We enjoyed a great lunch with good friends, in pleasant surroundings. I would highly recommend it for typical Murcian tapas. We would go back again and maybe have a meal in the restaurant, as we noticed meat being roasted over an open wood fire, as we left the bar. Mmmm....yummm.....
We passed by this restaurant by casuality and it was ful of people on a Wednesday. We were lucky to get a table and the waitress came immediately. We ordered two beers and she came with a free tapas which was bread and Spanish sobrasada. This was delicious. We saw they have a lot of typical Spanish ham and sausage to sell which they make them self and also they sell bread and pastries homemade. We ordered octopus with potatoe and lam chops made at their barbecue. Everything was perfect and fresh. We didn't have to wait too long and it was not expensive. 60 euros for three persons with five beers and starters and main course, and dessert . For dessert we had Spanish typical torrijas which is a fried bread with milk inside and ice cream on top. Delicious !!!! Certainly we will come back again.
