lunch in bilbao the dining room on the upper floor in this restaurant in bilbaos old town was booked on Tuesday from native to the midday so that we had to sit down in the bar area. the $14.50 menu del dia was really fantastic with many great options to choose (eight primero platos, nine segundo platos and eight postres) and also included a bottle of wine or a bottle of water. we loved the busy atmosphere in the bar... What User doesn't like about Pentxo:
Food was ok but bit of a tourist tip off cant believe charged 10euros for OJ and scrambled eggs and two small pieces of bread(see photo). First they got the wrong order then when they finally got what I ordered, it was very very disappointed lacked any flavour and bread stale. Wondering if these reviews are all fake... Reservations are highly recommended. they would be happy to find a table for lunch if they just walk in. we saw the locals willingly wait for more than 30 minutes for lunch, but it is worth waiting. the lunch menu is just under 16 euro, and it included wein and desserts.
Another good find in Bilbao Old City ... for lunch they had a €16 three course meal with some good selections...the mushroom risotto was yummy, along with the shrimp on skewers for a first course...the medallions were interesting and the fish was good...but what blew me away was the Tiramisu...WOW! I would go back here just to get this fabulous dessert.
