I have tried many of the sandwiches, desserts, and juices at this restaurant. I enjoyed everything I tried. Having gluten, canola oil, soy-free, mostly organic, delicious options so close to me is wonderful! I appreciate being able to pre-order from the weekly menu for pickup on Friday night or through the business model. What User doesn't like about Fresh Cafe:
Went to fresh cafe awhile ago, initially very excited to try a new vegan restaurant. We ordered our food and sat down to wait for it. The food took a long time and was sporadic in what came out. We ordered two of the falafel plates picking a couple sides and was very disappointed in the portions, we literally got a teaspoon of hummus and a couple small falafels for $9. Went to fresh cafe awhile ago, initially very excited to try a new vegan restaurant. We ordered our food and sat down to wait for it. The food took a long time and was sporadic in what came out. We ordered two of the falafel plates picking a couple sides and was very disappointed in the portions, we literally got a teaspoon of hummus and a couple small falafels for $9. My Mother in law ordered the Mac n cheeze, she said it was good but in my opinion the portion size again was not worth it. The smoothies we ordered were the only good thing about our meal... $68 dollars later it was definitely not worth it and i was still hungry after leaving. Your better off going to purple sprout where it can be a bit pricy but the food and portions are better!!!

We’ve been coming here mostly weekly since trying them out for their early Thanksgiving dinner. I’ve been at least vegetarian for 20 years and their food was the most amazing cooked food I’ve probably ever had that was GF vegan. Due to their hours we’re mainly only there on Saturday. Love their food so much we had them prepare several dishes for the Christmas holidays got to choose from anything she knew how to make -looking forward to feasting on it this week. ordered it only on Thursday afternoon -picked it up Saturday. Update: 3/27/19 Between the small portions, the very very long wait for the food, (1h 20 min for one small meal 1x) and the limited hours and veg competition in Lake Bluff we’ve been going elsewhere where the service is better- a lot quicker larger portions- even with only one chef at the other place usually. We used to be regulars but now maybe 1x a month only when we’re in the area.
Excellent taste! I had the reuben and it was difficult to tell that it wasn't real Iris Smoothie was deeelicious! Oh, yummy! As other people mentioned, the costs are high, but I thought the portions were decent. I paid 22 and change (with tip) for the reuben and smoothie. It is an expensive lunch, but I think it is worth it and will be back!
I was here a few times and loved it every time. I love her sticky bungalow!
