We got to the hotel 2 hours early and without expecting it they allowed us to check in early. Really lovely staff and beautiful building! Great location. We won't be back. The very noisy pump in the bathroom came on unexpectedly at 2 am and remained on for an hour when it shut itself off. We were unable to get an... read more We won't be back. The very noisy pump in the bathroom came on unexpectedly at 2 am and remained on for an hour when it shut itself off. We were unable to get any support from staff as no-one was on site. This was not made clear on the check-in leaflet we were given on arrival and we could not locate the emergency telephone number. Why not put it on the leaflet? The website needs to change as it states that there is a 24 hour concierge service Also, the night entrance remained unlocked so the hotel was not secure after 11.00. Very troubling. This is an easy fix- don't rely on guests to lock external doors: put a self -closing door with a coded key lock on it. We ordered a vegan breakfast but it was missing some items and when we asked, we were told that the delivery van had not arrived yet. Usually, in hospitality, if there's something unavailable, you are told when ordering so you an change your request. The comfortable beds and good central heating were the only good things about our stay . Service: 2

Unfortunately I have a small app... read more We have just spent 2 nights here on a friends recommendation, it was perfect. Lovely room, friendly staff and really good food. Unfortunately I have a small appetite and so couldn’t take full advantage of the delicious food which is served in very good size portions and beautifully presented. Service: 5
