Thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Hot Stone cooking was fun and there were many choices from steak to seafood to vegetarian and easy for the gluten free members of our group too. Nice to have a fine dining option at Club Mulwala for a special meal. Staff were great too. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Stonegrill Restaurant - Club MULWALA:
You are expected to cook your food on a very hot stone which is put in front of you. My wife had a vegetable pave but it wasn't a pave at all. It was a heap of raw vegetables which wouldn't cook on the stone. I had a steak which was ok but a good steak should be cooked whole and rested before eating. Clearly they don't have a good enough chef to cook for their best restaurant. For what you get, it is very expensive.T... View all feedback.
My friends recommended driving an hour away from Albury to Stonegrill at Club Mulwala, and I am glad we did. The staff, Zali and Jenny, were pleasant, accommodating, and friendly. They knew the menu well and were able to cater to our dietary requirements. We ordered prawn skewers and a mixed grill, and the food was top quality. Zali and Jenny checked on our table frequently and provided impressive service. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!
We were served with scorching hot stone plates to cook our own food, which is the concept of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not have enough tools and had to use the same plates that our raw fish came on. When we requested clean plates from the servers, they seemed surprised that we needed them. Additionally, we ordered an expensive bottle of red wine for $60, but it was served in a carafe with no bottle in sight. This experience was disappointing for a restaurant that prides itself on fine dining. It seems they could benefit from having more experienced staff members.
We had two breakfasts here and two dinners, enjoyed them all. Breakfast was inclusive in our package. Dinners were reasonably priced, good service prices. The place gets quite full testament to good food and prices, so make sure you are not late.
Dinner at Stonegrill was a mixed experience. The kids loved the Wagyu steak. I ate a mixed grill, it is not a great choice for the stone grill as it tends to spit fat. I was disappointed that the entrees were also stone grill. It's entertaining, but overdone for more than one course. The scallops were particularly difficult to cook, and I'd have preferred them separately cooked and plated. But small criticism aside, it was a memorable evening for the family, and the experience justified the cost.
Inside the Club Mulwala, appears to be the higher end restaurant and didn’t disappoint. Sat out on the balcony overlooking the memorial gardens and across to the lake. Highly recommend the cheese plate to share for starters but be warned it is a large entree, even when shared. Great fun cooking your own food at the table and no complaints it wasn’t cooked correctly. Great staff.
