Instead, I only received two ham hocks. I called the next morning and was informed that the livers were spoiled and had to be discarded. They didn’t have any information on what happened to the heart, and they told me that there were only two ham hocks available from my four halves.

When... read more I had a disappointing experience with the customer service at this establishment. They returned only parts of my animals and kept the items they preferred. When I inquired about the missing items, they claimed they weren't there. For instance, I had two hogs butchered and was shocked to receive no liver, no hearts, and no bacon. When I called to ask about it, they first said they didn’t have any, then claimed the liver was spoiled. Seriously? They also mentioned that the hogs were too small to have any bacon. It seems they underestimate their customers’ intelligence.

The butchers that take your deer are always unpleasant. I can’t remember the last time I had a friendly encounter with one of the butchers. If you’re a deer hunter, I would recommend you take your deer elsewhere. Also, it’s known that you are not getting your own deer back when you pick up your meat.

The hamburger meat is some of the best quality I’ve found. My family has shopped at Stroot’s since I was a kid. The meat can’t be beat. The only recommendation is give is that they could be a little more friendly to customers. Other than that, I have no complaints and have never had anything I didn’t like from here.
