Contribute Feedback What LittleToti doesn't like about Villa Brignole:
This is a lovely restaurant, and probably one you should try if you are in the fascinating Mulazzo area. But for me it was not a very positive experience. The vast all-encompassing enhanced local spread of antipasti was enough to make a meal ...except that the enhancement of the local dishes was a bit overdone.. The famous lamb of the nearby Zeri area that followed was so-so, accompanied by soggy roasted potato quart... View all feedback.
Absolutely wonderful place with very professional and sweet staff Kept perfect inside and outside.Don't be lazy go there
We had been recommended to try this restaurant so four of us (2 couples) went on Saturday 29th June. My friend booked the table through the restaurant website and we arrived at 7.30. As it was a glorious night dining was laid up in the beautiful garden setting. We were served chilled white wine and given the menus. We all opted for the set Cene a base di pesce menu which included wine, coffee and liquor. We noted that on the menus we were given this was 40 euros per person when the website did and still has the menu as being 35 euros. When the waitress came 15 minutes later to take our order we just all said we wanted the seafood menu. She advised that as we had not said this when we booked we could not have this menu. We were all extremely puzzled because at no time on the website booking did it mention this fact and that is what we all wanted. She went back into the restaurant to check and confirmed no we could not have this. A little disgruntled we had come quite a way so decided to settle for whatever we could have although we did advise that we were very disappointed with the website booking. 5 minutes later when she brought us another bottle of wine she advised us that the chef had said we could have the set menu. Very confusing. Anyway the food was amazing fine dining at it's best. We were served with two different plates of fish and seafood antipasti which were gorgeous artistry on a plate and the taste was superb. Next was a beautiful pasta dish followed by a small main course portion of fish and seafood en papillote. The yoghurt based dessert and coffee were lovely. The waitress replenished our wine bottle again during the main course. The entrance to the building is very steep cobbles and quite precarious. We went to settle the bill and were surprised to be charged 200 euros. When questioned the manager advised we had drunk 2 bottles of extra wine. At no time were we advised of the extra charge of 40 euros for 2 bottles and just thought that the wine was included. We never asked the waitress for more wine she just replenished when empty. We paid the bill but were very disgruntled that firstly the menu was 40 euros not 34 as stated on the website and a further 10 euros a head for extra wine. Be advised when visiting to check the prices carefully. That said we had a fantastic night with beautiful food and wine in an exceptional place. We all felt a little disappointed with the price and the big issue with not being able to have the fish menu and then a complete change of mind and we could have it !!! I think things need to be a bit clearer on the booking website
This was our 4th visit to Villa Brignole Restaurant and again the service and food was outstanding. We love to bring family and friends when we visit because of the beautiful surroundings and authenticity of Villa Brignole. The food is perfect and served with such care in its presentation. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Straconsigliato.
For over 10 years we have a house in Lunigiana. The food is good in Lunigiana but for something more profound you need to visit Villa Brignole. The place is amazing and the food stands out from the typical Lunigiana cuisine. The family restaurant is absolutely worth the trip up the hill.
