We had a horrible experience in this place today. We are a family from Spain traveling through Germany and we stopped in this restaurant for lunch. When we sat down, we asked the waitress if she spoke English as we dont speak German and needed help to order. She responded in a very rude way: "You are in Germany". Our visit was on 5th December 2012, We were a table of 11 persons.I had e-mailed on the 23rd January 2012 and reserved our table for December 2012, which was confirmed. We arrived into the restaurant at 18.00 and we were shown to a mixture of tables at the back of the room, none of which were free. It was embarrassing to have to sat around whilst people finished their drinks, got up and had to get the outside clothes on whilst we were all crammed into a small space. having finally got sat down, a very pleasant waitress attended to the drinks and supplied English menus for us. We proceeded to order our meal. Having waited a considerable length of time the waitress returned to tell us that Bauernfruhstuck mit speck and zwiebeln, gewurzgurke was not available, so the guests reordered, some time later she returned to tell us another dish was not available and that was reordered. At a busy time I can understand some popular dishes being sold out, but the ingredients for both dishes were parts of the other dishes ordered so there was no way this dish was unavailable. We waited one and a half hours for the meal to arrive, whilst other tables who had come in after us were served. Once the meal arrived the portions were very small, and two meals were cold, ( not warm, very cold ) this was supposed to be our farewell meal in Germany, a special night out, instead it was a disaster. The meal was not good, service was very slow and expensive.
A very busy but cosy restaurant right in the heart of the city. Provides nice beers (also wines), good food, plenty of people going back and forth to observe while you wait. Nice atmosphere matched with really nice service. To be recommended. Just remember to book a table in advance should you like to eat, as it is rather popular.
Very picturesque, traditional setting - lots of oak paneling and Delft tiles...a bar at the front, dining beyond the bar. The food is excellent.

We explained that are traveling and we unfortunately dont speak German so politely asked if she spoke English. She shrugged so we picked up and left. This was the most unpleasant experience, we were all shocked by the rudeness of this person. She should learn a few lessons on how to deal with tourists and guests in general, she gave a horrible image of Munster and Germany in general.
Fast, good, authentic food and nice beer. Wonderful service and comfortable surroundings, highly recommended for a quick meal.
