Being in Munich on the third day of the Oktoberfest, you would expect the bars to be empty, with everyone at the Fest. Well, you would be wrong. We were at the Beach maker for a drink at around 8:30, it was a bit quiet, bit it got quite busy by the time we left. Great food, decent wine selection and good service - all dressed up for the Fest too. We'll be back for lunch. View all feedback.
What Georg Lauer doesn't like about Bachmaier Hofbrau:
We ordered probably the worst burger in the world. It was definitely a frozen low quality hamburger which cost 17 euros!!! It was horrible. The rude waitress didn't take back the order and was not even letting us talk. She then in the most condescending way said that she could give us a cappuccino for free!!! I couldn't even believe it. Not recommended at all!!! View all feedback.
Just in the middle of the Leopoldstraße you can sit outside to see the packed road when the weather allows to stay inside, which is very nicely decorated. Traditional Bavarian cuisine on the whole way, special mention for the Cordon blue, best ever and the sparrow with baked onion and cheese. Very friendly service, fast and discreet. Bavarian food? This is the place
I visited this restaurant with friends and quite randomly actually. The service was great, our waiters were quick to help us with everything and very friendly indeed. One could say that the food was actually made by people who took care of what they... do; everything tasted great and felt almost homemade. Maybe some things could be improved, but I don't see why you wouldn't decide to eat there or at least some of their big house beers. The design is beautiful and has the feeling of a living room in a traditional baby house. Of course, the location is central to everything. I'm back on my next trip to Munich!
We stumbled across this place with the intention of having a drink then going on to a steak house on the next block (it was our last night in Munich) but soon as you walk in you can feel the friendly and welcoming vibe so...after some deliberating and 2 pints we decided to say and have supper and we were so glad we did. Beers as always were great, plenty of elbow room and the food was gorgeous. Two of us had the fried Bavarian ravioli style pie and my wife the turkey with pepper sauce. The football had been on the TV quietly but soon as it finished they were turned off letting you chatter even more. Mixture of different cultures and the staff were brilliant, efficient and courteous. If we hadn't had to be up so early next morning we'd have stayed for another few hours. Must visit and for what we ate and drank reasonably priced too.
Enjoyed the 1L beer and Bavarian Schnitzel. Sat out in the patio and enjoyed the service. For drinks, mains and desert it was about 40€ each.
Food served quickly and a great atmosphere out on the Main Street with excellent staff . Menus in a range of languages. Large TV screens outside so we all suffered the stress of the England Penalty shoot out !
