A shout out to Arthur’s help with my luggage and superb hospitality- fixing a hot coffee when I checked in. He was so helpful to get me the iron and ironing board! It’s a nice place to rest and a good distance to all the old town

The... read more We really liked this hotel. Our group includes three generations (my parents and our kids) and it's work well for all of them. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are quite big. We haven't heard any other guests so either we got lucky or the building is good at dampening sound. The doors are very sturdy so I think that's what's going on. Especially since we see other guests in the restaurant so there are clearly plenty of other folks here. The restaurant breakfast is not included in the room rate. There isn't a lobby, just the restaurant. But the staff seems happy to let us sit in the glass-enclosed restaurant patio. We occasionally sat there for a quick break, game of cards, etc. The hydrangeas are in full bloom and the courtyard is very pretty. Other recent reviews have mentioned construction noise. The hotel is adjacent to a site where a new apartment building is being constructed but we have then heard any noise during the evening or morning hours. I think it starts around 8:00 a.m. The location is excellent. It's on a quiet street a few blocks from the main plaza of the old part of town (Marienplatz in the Altstadt). We'd happily stay here again on any future trip to Munich.

The staff members were great and accommodating. The rooms were cool (AC) and the location couldn't be any better. It was relatively quiet most of the time but that was hit or miss. Some nights we could open the windows with no noise and others it was quite noisy. But if we kept the windows shut there was no noise at all. As others have mentioned, there is a lot of construction but that is all over the city to be honest. And, most important, it wasn't loud at any unreasonable hour. Overall we loved our stay at this hotel and would stay again if we return!
