Beautiful cozy ambience, and the food, mhh! Many different appetizers, vegetarian and falafel! As main food grilled meat and gambas, everything has tasted super, we will definitely visit the Fatamorgana restaurant again!! ! View all feedback.
What Ingrid Maier doesn't like about Fatamorgana:
Wir hatten einen Groupon Gutschein geschenkt bekommen, in welchem für 38€ die Vorspeisen Variation, ein Hauptgericht nach Wahl und ein Dessert Teller enthalten waren. Wir haben erst nachher in der Speisekarte gelesen, dass es fast das gleiche Menü regulär für 34€ gibt. Das ist also schon wirklich sehr dreist. Das Essen war generell in Ordnung, aber auch nichts wirklich außergewöhnliches. Der Service war gewöhnungsbed... View all feedback.
Here with business-cold buffet restaurant, which also live entertainment on a Saturday evening (dj’s belly dancers). restaurant is certainly popular although the diners are literally wedged in tables to leave the table without asking several other diners... up!. there is a cheerful party atmosphere in the restaurant, although the music was unmistakably loud, and a little off (like a cross between authentic middle-east music, mixed with techno from a amateur dj). the dancer was a short distraction, but again with the compact space available. the food was good, and the prices offered an excellent value.
We went through the forests and across the island west of the mülheimer center. it was the first really hot day of the spring (speaking of and after the long walk we were looking for something fresh and light. the fatamorgana (different from. what the name means) was an unexpected place to stop. as a starter we took a basing (aubergine in tomaten and garlic soup, which was a little but not too much spicy) and a laban (fresher cheese with gurken and garlic) in combination with typical arabian brot. light and fresh. for drinking we chose mumie and sawara alcohol-free cocktails that are not listed in the online menu) which was nice to see, refreshing and really suitable for the sunny day we had. as main dish we took falafel (veggie bohnenbälle) and gambas (spicky garnelen with peperoni and a little salat). both dishes had a bite (who was written in the menu? do not remember) and if they don't eat too much, simply skip the appetizers because for me that was enough (obious not for my bf). at the end of lunch the owners gave us a dessert and a dark tee with mint. I can't describe the dessert: I never eat anything like before, but I guess it was a kind of yogurt with baklawa, chocolate and sponge cake. the food was really delicious, refreshing and well tasted: nothing is left on the dish! the service was nice and the owners friendly. what is probably missing is a little more description on the menu, but the overall experience was really good.
We were so dissatisfied that I decided to write a negative feedback. never again! the main meal (we both had something from the grill) was completely burned on the sides and quite hard to eat. as we had only dry rice and few discs. the gurke, which was as dry, no warning as old. what was worse than our eating was the service. the waiter was rude and arrogant. we were the only guests there, as we got our meals, he sat together with the cook on a table near and smoked on our faces. not recommended!
We went early on a Tuesday night and unfortunately were the only diners who obviously meant that the atmosphere was calm I never sampled before Egyptian food (but had many other North African menus) the Falafel star was very good, unfortunately for my wife. they had no weeping leaves. I chose a typical Egyptian dish of lamb with carrots, that was wonderful and I would recommend it thoroughly. my wife had chickens with rusty and cocosnus that they enjoyed very much.
Little hidden gem. Food was awesome, server was extremely helpful even though he didn't speak English. They have WiFi.
