The atmosphere was great, and my server Glen was amazing! For starters we tried the Baby Duke's Clams Casino and it was delicious! For the main course, we had the Broiled Salmon, yellow rice, and mixed vegetables and the Shrimp Scampi Linguine both dishes were a hit! A perfect balance, they were out of cornbread when we were there. I also enjoyed the Passion Fruit Frozen Margarita. I enjoy Baby Duke's Kitchen and I w... View all feedback.
What Steven S doesn't like about Baby Duke's Kitchen:
Four of us ate here last night. The young man waiting on us was wonderful. Very helpful and efficient. The appetizers were very good and the entrees were good. However, all four of us had food poisoning (dizzy and upset stomachs) when we arrived home. Something is not right in the kitchen. Will not return. View all feedback.
Came to visit from Florida and can definitely say some of the most enjoyable seafood I've had in New York. The salmon was absolutely wonderful, and the clams were to die for. But by far the salmon Alfredo was the most delicious thing we've had here. Also, the bartender Jen is an absolute delight, very attentive and went out of her way to make my friend a drink she would enjoy. 10/10 experience this place needs to be known about.
Horrible, use to be soulfood, they changed without telling anyone. I ordered fried fish, came with the driest tasteless rice and a salad that looked days old and was not dressed. I brought it to their attention they reluctantly exchanged it for mashed potatoes but i had to request gravy dressing for my salad. I asked for a small plate to remove the dried out rice they didn't even offer to help remove the bad product from my plate...hopefully they will realize that its the small things attention to the details that keep a restaurant afloat...act like you care...poor product service. I will not return! I promise!
Went back to BABY Duke's the second time and it was horrible...! I had the waitress to reheated my food. My sangria drink had no fruits ? in it, a flower. This was on FATHER'S DAY ?. My family was very disappointed, food was not good.
Have only had the pleasure of enjoying takeout: Crab cakes dinner first time, fried Whiting the second! Delicious, all seasoned just right and I tasted the love these dishes were made with!
Wow!! The food, the southern hospitality, and everything was perfect. We came to Baby Dukes after a few hours on the beach. When we arrived the place was half empty, so I got a bit worried. The hosts doubled as waiters and they were very welcoming, charming, and hospitable. The place has been opened for about 10 months and this was our first time there. It has a rustic yet modern look. The music was not loud so we were able to have a conversation while enjoying the music. The restaurant is by the Harbor Island Park so you will enjoy the view of the water and marina if you sit by the window. We ordered the Hurricane Rum Punch and White Sangria. Both were balanced and allowed you to enjoy the various flavors in each drink. For our starters, we enjoyed their wonderful Clams Casino. We were able to taste the soculent clams, crispy bacon, toasted Panko breadcrumbs, the flavors of garlic, sweet cream butter, tangy lemon, and fresh parsley. For the main course we had perfectly cooked fried chicken, collard greens with smoked Turkey that took us on a southern cuisine tour. The batter was light, crispy, and not a hint of oil. The chicken was as juicy as it gets. We also enjoyed crab cakes with plump chunks of blue crab and just enough bread crumbs, red peppers, onions, and binder to hold it together. Baby Dukes is absolutely a keeper. You leave full and will continue to taste the flavors of each ingredient even after you leave. The food is balanced and flavorful. Needless to say the place was mostly full by 8:00 pm.
