Hagel 1891 - Mt Sterling

The first time we eat and it was amazing. large menu options and portions were perfect. norma and bree were very human and have checked us several times. they even sang happy birthday to my mom. what a great restaurant in such a small community. when they are in the opposite, they stop and give it a try. You'll be glad you did it.

The food is good but the service is absolutely terrible.

Visited Hagel today with a friend for a birthday celebration. Enjoyed the tenderloin and waffle fries!

First time here and we will be back many more, service was excellent, food was all excellent

We had family and friends in from out of town for a ball tournament in Brown County on Friday. We found a gem of a resturaunt, Hagel 1881. The food was fantastic. Amazing Steaks and the ribs were so tender! Such a beautiful place. The service was impeccable. Our server was Bre. She was an absolute doll. Very professional, knowledgeable about the menu and alcohol selections, but also charming and witty. Small town charm at its best. She was clearly very busy, but managed to check on us often. We also were checked on by the other male server. He was very charming and working just as hard. So impressive. And oh my goodness, does the manager ever take a break!? Our whole table noticed how she was everywhere and managing every aspect, working like crazy. To our delight she took time out to talk with our table and take pictures for us.. She was just so lovely.. Our friends in from Oklahoma own several small chain restaurants and seriously considered asking if she would come show their staff how it should be done. It was such a delight to watch her charm the daylights out of all the customers. We all were so impressed finding such a great quality restaurant in such a little town. We would Love to go back!!
