While some reviewers found service lacking and tables dirty, others praised the friendly staff and delicious food. The chef received high praise for the generous portions and fantastic flavors. COVID protocols were observed diligently, and the compact menu offered a good selection of options. With a lovely atmosphere and excellent service, this stop is perfect after a hike on the nearby trails. Overall, the reviews paint a varied picture, with some patrons eager to return again soon.
Food was tasty, no complains there. Yet the review about forgetting you, if they are busy is true. Also, staff was not really helpful... we were staying 2 nights here, and I had two Chinese dinners. But I can easily see how things can go downhill for some people, so don't expect too much
We stopped at this restaurant for brunch on our way to hike at the Ballyhoura Trail centre. It is situated in the picturesque village of Ardpatrick, making it the perfect location for St Patrick's weekend. The atmosphere was lovely and it was bustling with both families and hikers. What really stood out was the delicious food - generous portions and everything tasted fantastic. The chef deserves high praise. The staff were friendly and provided great recommendations for local attractions. There is also a bar in the back that was likely lively later in the weekend. We are excited to return soon.
This business has extremely poor customer service. Website has misinformation and so does Facebook page. Poor Ambassador for Ballyhoura as visitor attraction. Drove from Limerick for lunch to find it closed. Visiting with family from UK this made a great impression thanks a lot. It’s laziness not updating your social media and website.
We visited for lunch and the inside was empty so went to find someone that could seat us and it was a very lukewarm reception from the lady. All the tables were set up perfectly with serviettes/knifes/forks laid out nicely, except for one table that was dirty. This was the table we were seated at... Which then needed to be cleaned and then the lady brought out 4 sets of knives/forks and just plopped them in a pile in the middle of the table. At least my daughter enjoyed laying them out nicely. The food took a really long time to arrive which is fine but it would have been nice to have the lady pop over to reassure us it was coming or sorry for the long wait. I enjoyed the food and there was a guy working in a different room who was much more friendly.
Had a lovely time here tis avo.. a bunch of us had coffee etc after hiking in the mts nearby.. lovely setting, great staff (so friendly and professional).. made sure we wer v well looked after.. we just had coffee and snacks (which wer all throughly enjoyed), but the food the staff were bringing out to other customers looked divine.. next time we are in this area we will be sure to stop by for something more substantial..
