What Diane Sodher likes about Daimatsu Japanese:
I miss dining in, but this is the top spot for authentic Japanese cuisine in the area, hands down. They offer customizable options for vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions. The service for take-out is excellent. Perfect for a dinner meal, the price per person ranges from $20 to $30. The food, service, and atmosphere are all rated 5 stars. Highly recommend trying the Fried Oysters. View all feedback.

read moreDaimatsu stands out as a premier destination for authentic Japanese cuisine, known for its excellent take-out service and customizable options for dietary needs. Despite being a small, modest venue, it has garnered a loyal following over the past 25 years, with regulars praising the quality of its sushi and other dishes, like the Fried Oysters and Chirashi Deluxe. While most customers rave about the food and atmosphere, a few have noted discrepancies in portion sizes. Nevertheless, Daimatsu continues to impress with its commitment to quality, making it a cherished favorite for sushi lovers in the area.
The best and most authentic sushi where I live. People here are very nice, and before COVID it was great to meet conversations with the sushi balls.
Legit Japanese cuisine. Ask for the Omakase (choice of Sushi/Maki) for the best sushi experience in the area. Just take for now, but worth the ride to pick up.
Would definitely come back. Great lunches. Careful to see if they have a sushi-sashimi-omakase.
They made gluten-free chicken yakidon, gluten-free negamaki, grilled ika with gluten-free tamari sauce. Japanese owned and a very special place!!
