A historic hotel with all the comforts and amenities of yesteryear. Service was simple and perfect. I've never had an easier time checking into a hotel. My only regret is not allocating enough time to fully enjoy the experience. I arrived late and had to leave early, a mistake I won't make next time. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 View all feedback.

The waitress was friendly, but the restaurant was uncomfortably hot, making me sweat. There was a terrible fly problem; we spent most of our time swatting flies away from our food, which was incredibly distracting. My burger was overcooked and dry, but it still had a decent flavor. New Mexico 01-2024 Shaffer Hotel in city of Mountaire. There is a lot of hiking and day trip opportunities just steps away from this gorgeous sun drenched little burg. But today it was cold as a Wells Digger Butt. Only 6 degrees. We stopped at the Shaffer Hotel which shares a building with the restaurant and according to signage a ghost or 2. The waitress was very nice. The interior design was very eclectic and extremely Southwestern busy...I ordered a Iced tea With lemon And BLT on toast with French fries Tony ordered a Iced tea also with a burger. Our food was very good. Definitely will go back if ever in the area. Highly recommend for toy to check it out, it's awesome!!! Service: 5
Waitress was friendly but the restaurant was so hot I was sweating. There was a horrid fly problem, we were swatting flies off our food so much it was super distracting. My burger was overdone and dry but still tasty. Location is meh, Mountainair is a horrible little stain on an otherwise beautiful NM countryside. It's probably worth visiting once (the drive south from tijeras is gorgeous), if only to satisfy your curiosity before confirming to yourself it's nowhere you'll ever visit again. Service: 4
I stayed there a couple of years ago and forgot to give a review. The rooms were big and adequate. The hotel has a lot of history and the architecture is amazing! The restaurant is nice with a wonderful staff. The food was wonderful to boot. Service: 5
Long waiting time, wildy overpriced, moldy buns, enough grease to drown in, and an overall terrible place to eat at.
We enjoyed our peaceful stay at this historic inn. The owner is super friendly and made us feel right at home. The adjoining gallery is amazing and more art can be found throughout the hotel space. Our room was bright and clean. Check in and out is a relaxed self serve style with a front door code and a physical key.

This restaurant is a fantastic find and definitely worth a visit if you're in the Mountainair area. The desserts are amazing, and the staff is very friendly—huge thanks to Lil Bit and Becky!
The menu was a bit limited, but the food was good. Unfortunately, this restaurant has now closed its doors.
