This is the best value sushi in Mountain View. The fish is consistently fresh, and the nigiri comes with just the right amount of Wasabi—neither too much nor too little. You’ll have the best experience sitting at the bar. View all feedback.
I initially wanted to go to Maruichi because it was cold and I was craving some ramen. However, it was too crowded. Then I noticed Sono across the street, which was also busy but had no waiting line, so we were seated right away. The restaurant has a sushi boat concept but also offers several tables. The menu features a wide variety of options to cater to different tastes. Although I should have tried the sushi, I opted for a soup and ordered the Tempura Udon instead. It took a little while to arrive, but when it did, I was pleasantly surprised to find three shrimp tempuras instead of just one, along with plenty of vegetables in the dish. The service could use some improvement, as I had to flag down our waitress a few times to get a refill. Overall, it was a nice surprise and a pleasant dining experience.
