Rooster Rice - Mountain View

Ordered the "Riceless chicken". A little bit dry. Would be great if they offered a oyster sauce dip as an option. Vegetables were more than al dente. Had to steam them more at home.

My breast meat chicken without the skin was outstanding. Incredibly moist and tender, also flavorful, Im guessing they poached it in a flavorful broth or with veggies, etc. Brown rice was good but a bit salty. Cucumbers were very fresh. Ginger scallion sauce was tasty but very hot and spicy with ginger. Seems it was a lot of freshly grated ginger with just a little bit of oil mixed in. Steamed veggies were mushy and flavorless.

Loved the rice less chicken I will try the chicken with rice in a couple of days. I was overjoyed to find coffee ice cream. A real treat in this weather.

Very poor prep of food. The Original also nothing close to the local traditional chicken rice. The chicken is not fully prepared and hard to bite.

Overall good and affordable. I found the breast meat a little dry, so I often substitute for thighs only. The broth is also one of the best Ive had. I only wish they gave two sauces instead of one!
