great compassion. well illuminated, quiet enough to have a conversation, friendly barkeeper and clientele. not too fancy, but a good choice. has a pool table and a foosball table. at least two screens have often tuned to sport. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fred's Place:
We actually went to the food truck in the back of Fred's and it wasn't that great. I had heard good things but maybe my expectations were too high. Don't order the halibut or the hush puppies. Folks were really nice though. View all feedback.
Cool place, but if CHANG is the bartender, turn around and just go! CHANG is terrible. When you go to a local bar, a part of the appeal is the local characters and an attacking bartender. CHANG is rude, inconspicuous, monosyllabic best (like a grunt), and basically it could not take care of the bar or the moats. Such a shame. We had a drink and stayed in a grandson. Please note that the owner has another bartender for your facility.

I absolutely love Fred's a dive bar in Palo Alto good to visit over the weekends. Cheap drinks, good bartenders. Usually get peanuts or polish sausage hot dogs. They have pool and darts and more formal seating but it's most fun to sit at the bar. It's a Great informal dive bar playing sports on the TV screens. Always fun to be there!
Fun local bar. Kinda loud but great bartenders and patrons. Reasonable prices great drinks.
Came on Saturday night and the bartender was very rude and charged me $19 dollars for a small truly and a hot pocket after telling me there was a $10 minimum so I have him a $20 bill. Wasn't even THAT busy and homeboy was panicking and giving attitude to everyone for no reason... straight robbed me of $10 smh
