The best meal we've had this trip. Everything was steaming hot and delicious. Wait staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable. We split a 5-piece catfish dinner with fries and slaw and I ordered a side of their batter fried squash. We are staying in a hotel and hour and a half away and I would consider the 3-hour round trip just to eat here again. We will definitely stop in the next time we are in the area. We... What Samantha Osborn doesn't like about Skipper's:
We both ordered cheeseburgers and fries. The burgers were still raw in the center. The waitress only came to our table 2 times. Once to take our order and the other time to drop the check. Another waitress brought our food out. Did not speak to us at all. Our drinks were not refilled. Waited 10 minutes to be served. Got up and left when other people were waited on before us. **** poor service. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Absolutely delicious catfish, appetizers, and sides. Generous portions and all piping hot. Staff always makes me feel at home!

I’ve gone to Skippers 3 times now. I’ve had the fish twice. It’s mediocre at best. I’m sorry. This place seems to be a staple in the community so I hope to try some other dishes. The prices are great, but sadly enough, there is better catfish to be found at Harp’s or even the Exxon in Gassville. I did have a sandwich at Skippers that makes me want to try more of their items, just won’t be getting the fish again. Service is normally pretty good.
Staff is like family, as friendly as you are. Food is good. Relatively famous. Location is easy to find. Ample parking. Seating is a shade cosy, all chairs, no booths. Easy to befriend fellow diners, or bring a party and combine tables. Specialties: Catfish, tomato relish, hush puppies, B&G. Table(art) feature a map of the local lakes, fish specie, some ads. Other aesthetics change seasonally.
