Gabby, Tiffany and Pitmaster (Dave? are amazing! They made our Valentine's Day so special with an amazing meal in the forest! Gabby even made a special accommodation to make us a potato salad to go with their delicious beans. Like all of us, Sugar Loaf was influenced by Covid, but they made an intimate and tasty meal possible in a beautiful environment for our VD! Thank you for all you do and stay open during really... Very bad attitude from the owner. We were told at 12:00 and the ribs won't be until 1:30. Okay, beans ordered and they were not ready. They came to talk to us and explain what happens and we understand, but she said my wife still didn't look happy. I told her we came here to have ribbing and yes, we were disappointed. She said she didn't like us to be happy and didn't want to serve us. We will return to NIE or recomm... View all feedback.
We went to the mountains to check this place. It was a nice ride, but at the end it was 20 degrees cooler and then the sun went down. Only outdoor seating, as expected. The pulled pig was tender and really delicious. My wife got the tri tip and that was also wonderfully prepared. The main problem was that we went on a Sunday night and they were made of brisket, ribs and pastrami, plus Mac and cheese. Their sauce was good, but if they recommend, they develop a few sauces, including a little zesty. The sour cherry cake was fantastic. I love it!! My wife said the pancake was also very good. Overall, this is a great place for BBQ and cakes.

The food was really good, but we drove up from La Quinta not knowing that there was no seating available. This information should have been put on OpenTable or their website. That being said very good food and if you are up for a fun drive for pick up you should do it. To be clear they had a picnic table for us to sit on, but in a location that really didn't make a lot of sense.
Very poor attitude from the owner. We at 12:00pm and was told the ribs will not be done until 1:30. Ok... ordered basked beans and they were not ready. The came to talk to us and explain what happen and we understand but she said my wife still did not look happy. I told her we came up he to have ribs brisket and yes we were disappointed. She said she did not like that we were happy and did not want to serve us. We will NEVER go back nor recommend this restaurant
This restaurant offers outdoor dining exclusively, featuring several picnic table areas scattered around the property. After enjoying the delicious BBQ and pie, you can follow the trail that leads to the Cactus or Saw Mill hiking paths in the San Bernardino National Forest.
