This time we visited the restaurant on a weekday at 2:00pm. There was plenty of parking available and no wait. However, even if we go on the weekend and have to wait, it is worth it. It is important to mention that the menu only offers pizza and salad, but they make their dough fresh daily. View all feedback.
What A h doesn't like about Davenport's Pizza Palace:
This place needs a little dusting. A few upgrades wouldn't hurt either. It was our first time visiting. I let the hostess know that iy was out first rodeo. She told us we could sit where ever we want. Once seated, we were looking around for a menu (sitting for about 10 mins not waited on) and finally the waitress comes up and let us know that it's on the bottom of this huge wooden pizza spatula. Unique pizza that has been a standard pizza spot in My Brook for many decades a landmark spot.
We eat this at Davenport’s 3 times a month. Need I say more.
Customer service was great despite how busy it was. Food was not authentic Italian more like a dry little ceasers. Also i requested a pepperoni pizza which was almost $20 and there was literally ONE pepperoni on it. Environment was very kid friendly. Might come back if the food improves.
Great place to visit an old school local pizza place. Toppings were high quality, sauce a little too much acid, I guess we are getting old....tums, the crust was very good, it will try extra crispy next time. Service and hospitality were great. Thank you for a great meal in Birmingham.
I have been a patron since my first visit at the age of 6 years and have been here for almost 30 years several times a year! The food is wonderful throughout with a charming home atmosphere and an always friendly staff. You will never get a bad meal at Davenport and they even have a playroom the classics, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong etc...
