Era is a family-owned and operated wine bar and restaurant located in the historic Singer Building of Mount Rainier, MD. With more than 45 wines available by the glass and small plates inspired by ancient spice routes, Era offers a unique dining experience. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available, with the outdoor seating heated in winter and covered in spring and summer. Guests can also purchase wine bottles to-go from Era's shop. Era has been honored with the Opentable Diner's Choice Award and featured in Tom Sietsema's Favorite Places to Eat column in the Washington Post. Everything was truly delightful—the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the crowd. It was the perfect way to welcome the new year.
They went all out for New Year's Eve and it was phenomenal! The food was fantastic and the wine pairings on point. The complimentary bubbles were icing on the cake, and we purchased an amazing bottle of Champagne to go with everything as well. Era is a must visit!
The service was excellent—prompt and attentive. The food and wine pairing was a true display of expertise. I will definitely be back!
As usual, this restaurant provides an outstanding selection of food, wine, and cocktails. Our group of three shared 4-5 dishes, and there was more than enough for everyone! Shannon, the wine enthusiast, was incredibly attentive and offered fantastic recommendations for both the food and the wine list. She also ensured that everything arrived at our table just as we requested. It was a delightful and elegant dining experience!
I like going on Wednesday there's usually a couple of chairs open. The food is complimentary to the fabulous assortment of wines. The location is perfect to avoid traffic going home. It's never too loud...it's an intimate setting for a date or just to make new friends. The wines are amazing...Katy or Mel the on site wine matrons are very knowledgeable of the assortment of wines. It's definitely my favorite place to frequent in the DMV. Smitty
