We stopped in here on our way back to Chicago. It was amazing!! Such great food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. We had the brisket and pulled pork dinners with mac n cheese and slaw. They were delicious!! Some of the best brisket and barbecue sauce I have ever had. If we had more time we would have stayed and played a round of bowling! If you are looking for some good old fashioned soul food with prices to match, this is your place!

All three of us adults at very well for under 50 bucks and lots of leftovers If you find yourself on old Route 66 stop in and enjoy this new hidden gem I'll be back for sure
Didn't go bowling but stopped in for some BBQ. IT WAS GOOD!!! And the two folks working there were very friendly. We found this place on Yelp listed under Fat Daddy's BBQ which had some great reviews and the photos of the platters made my mouth water. Siri told us to stop outside a sparse looking white building with no sign. So I went inside and asked. The nice young lady said that Fat Daddy had moved on but the still served some very good BBQ. So we took her on her word and sat down at the bar. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a beef brisket platter. Had cole slaw and green beans as the sides. Take a look at my photos to see how the presentation grabs you the meat was moist and flavorful and the sauces were yummy. I would normally say that it was 4 star food but considering that we were in Mt. Olive Illinois right on Route 66 by the way my rating moved up to 4 stars. Last thoughts if you want fancy this isn't the place. Hopefully the will put up a sign one of these days but, if not, it is on the corner of the 4 way stop. If you are tired of McDonalds and Arby's jump off of Interstate 55 for 4 minutes and get some home made food for the same or less dinero. Oh yeah check out the old Shell station a block to the West classic Route 66 stop.
This was the most accommodating bowling and restaurant venue I have ever visited. I was in town for a family reunion, and the staff at Mt. Olive Bowling and Restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 22. We had a blast bowling, enjoyed some AMAZING BBQ, and savored great beer. The service was outstanding, and the glow bowling added a fun twist to our experience. Our group can be quite lively, but the staff managed all our food and drink orders effortlessly, which was fantastic. I'm already looking forward to our next reunion because we will definitely be back to bowl!
We must have passed the Mt. Olive exit over 100 times without ever stopping in the quaint little town. However, on our way to St. Louis tonight, we decided to give it a try after reading all the glowing reviews. The brisket was juicy and tender, and the Yankee sauce was fantastic! My kids loved the house-made chicken tenders. My husband tried a Central Illinois favorite, the horseshoe, which consists of toast topped with a hamburger patty, fries, and cheese sauce. Overall, the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable—I'm so glad we decided to stop!
