Escape to Puerto Rico and experience the best food in food town. Be sure to come hungry because you will get a healthy portion.
A friend has mentioned this restaurant but we don’t go that frequently to Mt. Morris so we have waited. They have moved from location but a person from a local store came out to help us with the directions.? Its a small but clean and cute Latin/Puerto Rican (owners are from Puerto Rico) restaurant. What we all ordered: Churrasco with white rice(only option) and beans with a side of yellow plantains, fried pork with tostones(fried green plantains), and four piña ? coladas with rum. To go: twin chicken empanadas, quesitos, flan ? and passion fruit moose?. Pretty much all the food was very good, but the rice was hard and the beans not too hot. To our like the churrasco should not be cut in pieces as it get dry, but flavor was good enough. Like every other place they suffer from staff shortages so it takes a little bit longer to get your food/drinks, so be patient food is worth it. Like a Latin/Hispanic restaurant they have music which we enjoyed and it was loud enough that you can talk to others without screaming at each other ??. One last thing to the owners, please do not use fabuloso to clean the tables while there’s people eating. The smell is so strong that at one point we all tasted the fabuloso while still eating. Yes, I know you want the restaurant to smell clean but not use it while having service. There are other options to sanitize the tables without been a strong and overwhelming smell. And yes we will come back!!? I forgot the ceviche, OMG ? is different but soooo delicious ??
We had an amazing dinner here on a Sunday evening. They were pretty busy around 6PM, but we were able to get a table without a wait. The door is around the back/side of the building when looking from the street. We parked behind the building in a small, public lot, but there is a ton of parking in the area. Our server was friendly and welcoming. She was enthusiastic about the food and offered to explain menu items or answer any questions since we hadn't been here before. We started with beverages and an order of papas rellenos. My mojito was refreshing and wonderful with loads of fresh mint. The papas rellenos were beautifully seasoned and crisp on the outside. We all ordered mofongo for our entrees. I had the shrimp with Carribean sauce. Oh, wow, this was delicious and probably could have fed 2 people, particularly if you order appetizers and want dessert. I kept eating because it was so delicious, but still had leftovers for lunch the next day. The shrimp were plentiful and cooked perfectly. The plantain dome was delicious and the sauce was amazing. I am thinking about it again as I'm writing this almost 2 weeks later and am cursing the fact that I live 9 hours away....must plan another vacation soon.... Seriously, this is the best Puerto Rican food we've had since our trip there, and I'd argue the mofongo was better than what we had in Puerto Rico because this was just sooooo good. Do not miss this spot if you're visiting the finger lakes area!
Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to eat delicious authentic Puerto Rican food! Nice environment, the food was delicious, it brought me back to the island and the waitress was very attentive and nice!! This is the place to visit if you arearound the area!!
