Clarence's Bar & Restaurant
Clarence's Bar & Restaurant
Description
Clarences, established in 2009, is one of Perth's original small bars and a local icon. Recently, it has reopened with a new group of talented individuals, bringing the flavors of the French Quarter to Mount Lawley, WA. Our menu showcases a combination of stunning West Australian produce and Creole flavors meant to be shared. Indulge in dishes like Grilled Akoya oysters, deboned fried chicken, and a mouthwatering 700g sirloin on the bone. Our cocktail selection is inspired by New Orleans classics, with must-tries like the Sazerac. We also offer a variety of local craft beers, biodynamic wines, and a tight French wine list. Join us on Beaufort Street for a taste of the renaissance.

Unfortunately, clarences did not fall on the sign for us with the ridiculously dark stalls and limited menu area really affect our joy at the meal times. it was so dark in the did a large motte was barely visible in the plate of food that my friend was served. we had no objection to placing our own orders on the bar, and the staff was very polite and friendly. the food itself was pretty nice and the layout was very insta-worthy. but the entire culinary experience was below average. could return for a nightcap, but not a meal.
Quality food at a reasonable price. a good selection of wallpaper and bottled and the beer and burger combos on Sunday is a highlight. oh and the oysters
Clarences serves an amazing burger. I'm not sweating. this hits flipside and alfreds (which I absolutely not a fan of) hands down the patty is soft, the cheese perfectly melted, the hate is not soggy and it is just the right amount of sodium to increase my blood pressure as I like it. in the ground everything they want with a burger then it will be better. because you can have a burger and beer combo and it's a good deal. the beer comes from the feral brewery and it is good after the burgers here.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to dine at and bring friends who have never been before. I enjoy all of the dishes and usually end up ordering a variety of items each time. I love to share the food with others.
Went here on Saturday night to catch up with some friends and decied on Clarences as it was stormy out, we wanted somewhere cosy and warm to go! I didn't book thinking we would be fine as the weather was so crappy, however looks like some other people had the same idea.... it was buzzy when we walked in, couldn't get a table but was happy to eat down at the bar end. The food was delcious and enough to share between 4 people as tapas. The stand out items were the flat bread, steak, mac n cheese, pork belly, chicken wings. The mac n cheese was definitly a highlight for me.. was rich and creamy with out being stodgy. Will definitly come back here soon over winter :
