This charming, old-school drive-in restaurant is a gem! It's not a place for fast food; everything is made to order, ensuring freshness. The cheeseburger was exceptional—cooked perfectly with high-quality beef and a beautifully caramelized grill. The bun was light and didn’t overshadow the burger's flavor. The fries were super fresh, piping hot, and had a gorgeous crispy exterior, plus the portion was generous! I also enjoyed a really tasty butterscotch shake—not too thin, not too thick. The Donna fish sandwich was impressive as well; it wasn’t overcooked, and the fish had great flavor with a nice crisp coating. This place truly offers classic American diner fare, cooked and served excellently at reasonable prices, all in an atmosphere that feels nostalgic. I can’t wait to return! If you’re in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop by and grab a bite!
This place offers a classic dining experience! While the service isn't the quickest, the food is fresh and made to order, which makes the wait well worth it. Their homemade fries are absolutely delicious, and the burger is made with high-quality ingredients and fresh vegetables. I also had a butterscotch shake that was the perfect complement to my meal! This cozy spot is definitely worth a visit—I highly recommend it! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to stop by!
This is a fantastic local spot! I can't wait to return and try one of their burgers. Although the dining room isn't open, there are plenty of picnic tables available for outdoor seating.
A little disappointed after reading all their reviews guess I had higher expectations. I got a cheeseburger, my husband got a double cheeseburger and we shared a large order of Cajun fries. The beef patties are frozen press formed and taste like soy. I could barely eat the burger. The Cajun fries were just frozen packaged fries, not really sure what makes them Cajun. On a positive note, I absolutely loved the butterscotch shake!
A gem on the side of the road! Too cute of a place. Soft serve ice cream, sundays, floats banana splits! But! The burger, fries onion rings are not to be missed. Its walk up to order and there's colorful picnic tables if you want to eat there. The prices are extremely reasonable so don't miss this place. Mt. Ida is on the west side of Lake Ouachita just about 8 miles out in the mountains. Take a step back in time!
