Multiple accounts also cite poor communication and rude management, so it’s best for quick, inexpensive takeout rather than those seeking a clean dine-in or dependable customer service.

I popped in for a snack and a drink. Unfortunately, the cookies were hard and stale. It’s disappointing because I used to really enjoy them—they were fantastic back then.

When I called again on March 5, 2024, I overheard someone in the back yelling unacceptable comments about my wife. I believe the daughter and an older woman, who I assume is the mother, should be let go. When the woman in the back took the phone from the staff member I was speaking to, she screamed at me and said some inappropriate things before hanging up. I had to call back twice just to finally speak to a manager, who accused me of lying. It seems that the manager thinks everyone from Mt. Carroll is lying when their subs are messed up. I don't appreciate being called a liar or being yelled at, and I would advise against going to this establishment. All of this could have been avoided if they had simply called to inform me they were out of tomatoes and certain types of bread. To make matters worse, every sub had at least one issue, and they were flat and poorly wrapped. The manager has made it clear that he doesn’t care about the staff’s behavior or the customer experience. If the staff member hadn’t yelled at me, I wouldn’t be writing this review; I could have resolved the issue when I called about the messed-up subs. Now, they've lost my business for good, and I've contacted corporate regarding both incidents. I will pursue this matter until something is done. Having managed and owned multiple franchises, I've never encountered such poor service before. If you decide to visit this restaurant, good luck. It’s frustrating to support a business that treats customers this way while allowing their employees to behave poorly. I plan to order from local food businesses in Mt. Carroll that treat customers with respect and support small families. I didn’t intend to write such a lengthy review, but it felt necessary. Maybe I’ll even write a book about this experience!
