Totness Inn Hotel - Mount Alexander

I love this restaurant. My husband, our 6-year-old, and I come here for lunch about every 8 weeks. The salt and pepper squid is amazing and definitely a favorite of ours.

I found this place to be just okay. It seemed more like a neighborhood pub, based on the atmosphere.

Our party of five traveled through the beautiful Adelaide Hills for a family dinner on recommendation from friends, and were so glad we did. The food was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection - steak is the best I have had anywhere including top end eateries in Melbourne!! Everything was presented with care and the chips -OMG, the chips.... Service was friendly and efficient, dining room welcoming, and a nice touch that the chef came out to make sure we were happy with the meals. Overall a fabulous evening thanks to you all.

Our group of 5 headed up through the beautiful Adelaide Hills to visit the Totness Inn. We were greeted warmly by the Publican John, and ordered our very reasonably priced drinks. Our beautifully hot, fresh and delicious garlic and herb breads came out promptly - delicious! Then on to our main meals - what can be said but sheer awesomeness. The rumps were cooked to absolute perfection - rare and medium rare, both done exactly as asked. Home made balsamic reduction salad dressing was perfect, pepper gravy super tasty and had ACTUAL green peppercorns!!. The chicken Parmies were heavenly, seafood platter fresh and crispy and the chips a triumph. It is rare that I have had a meal cooked with such obvious care. I travel interstate quite a bit, and this would beat many a silver service offering in Melbourne. A really nice touch was the Chef coming out to make sure we were enjoying the meal.Thank you to all for a lovely evening - service from staff was friendly and efficient. We will be back soon!

Lacking in initial welcome on entering pub but warmed up and dining area comfortable and service friendly. Good, hearty pub food, basic menu but enough choice for all. Mount Pleasant Hotel in same area offers greater food variety and more friendly service.
