Still a good chippy. Lots of others around have really dropped their quality, so this is the only place we currently use. Nice fish, great chips, quick and friendly service. View all feedback.
What Christian Müller doesn't like about The Rex Cafe:
Bought a snack box and a haggis pudding and everything was bland. Plus the bottle of juice with the snack box you can’t choose, it’s just a bottle of red kola View all feedback.
I can't believe they have the nerve to serve fish and chips that tastes and feels like rubber. It shouldn't be that difficult to deep fry fish properly. It tasted like it was just reheated from frozen. And to top it off, they didn't even have salt and vinegar. I definitely won't be returning to this restaurant.
The restaurant could improve on being more welcoming and slightly lowering their prices, in my opinion.
We used to frequent The Rex, but we were disappointed with their opening hours and staff attitude. We arrived at 8:30pm, two hours before closing time, only to find that they had run out of food. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Was absolutely shocked with the fish supper last night. What happened to the big box it usually came in? It was presented in a small polystyrene tray wrapped in paper which stuck to the tiny fish. Last time I saw fish that size they were swimming round in a bowl. To add insult to injury it was cold.
Always enjoy good food from here, and the staff are always friendly.....always a laugh and blether with the delivery driver!
