I ordered for pick up from this restaurant which is currently closed, and was excited to find a local Indian restaurant that serves amazing food. I ordered their All Day Special, which included spiced onions, 2 poppadoms, garlic naan (upgraded from plain), chicken chaat, 2 curries, and a single portion of fried rice. The total came to £18.75. What V D doesn't like about Shalimar:
The food at this restaurant was delicious with a nice selection available. Each dish came in small portions, giving the impression that it is kept fresh. The desserts were good, with small pieces of cakes allowing you to try different options without waste. The ice cream was also delicious. The desserts were good, with small pieces of cakes allowing you to try different options without waste. The ice cream was also delicious. However, the drink service was a bit slow, despite the restaurant being very quiet. It used to be a nice feature that you could bring your own wine, but Saffron now has a no-alcohol policy on the premises. The toilets were not well-maintained, with one door lacking a lock and the other without toilet paper. There was even a spider in one of the toilets, which was disappointing.
Had the buffet here on the 23rd Dec. Food was THE best Indian buffet food I've ever had. Curries were tasty and delicious, the homemade curry is to die for!! t The service was warm and friendly making you feel so welcome. Please don't go anywhere else!
First vist to this lovely restaurant. We ate from.the buffet and had a really lovely meal. Food was excellent and the staff were lovely and made us feel so welcome. They don't have a drinks license yet and so hubby had to do a quick sprint across the road to Scotmid for a bottle of red. However this was not a problem and we had a lovely time and will definately be back!
I was disappointed to miss out on the reasonably priced buffet at this restaurant. With limited options available, I ended up ordering chips with a small pot of kebab sauce for £4.50. Unfortunately, the chips were undercooked and unappetizing and the sauce was revolting. I ultimately threw away my meal and decided to visit Anton's fast food instead. Additionally, I was disturbed to see the staff clearing away desserts with their hands to be served the following day. Despite the nice appearance of the restaurant, I would not recommend dining here.
