Our experience was very good. We have eaten outside and food was good. I have eaten fried garoupa and my wife squids and shrimps kebab. The desserts were extremely good. All local ingredients including white wine from Pico. View all feedback.

Went there for simple dinner. We got there at 5:30 PM and the lady there told us to come back at 6:00 PM, mind you, very rude. Came back at 6:00 PM, same lady acting very rude to us. Bottom line, they were basically refusing to serve us. I do not recommend this place to anyone for dinner based on my experience there. View all feedback.
Just dined here last night. 6 of us at the table, our meals included limpets, swordfish, “big fish”, octopus, salmon, and cod. All were generous servings, twice the fish that we were served in PDL. We found the fish to be fresh and well prepared, and the included sides (salad and fries or boiled potatoes) to be the same. Service was more attentive than typical in European countries, and food arrived quickly. Desserts were great also. Highly Recommended, best food we have had in a week on the islands.

Although this restaurant closes at 10pm and had empty tables inside and out, they refused to serve us saying the restaurant closed at 9pm, even though we arrived before 9pm.
Stopped here on quiet night and service was very solid and food was good. Nothing fancy but good. Affordable.
We tried this restaurant on the advice of locals despite the bad reviews on trip advisor. We had the fried fish and prawn and squid skewer. They didn’t have the Grouper but I had the backup option which was excellent whole pan fried fish which tasted like Australian snapper. The dishes are served local style with a simple healthy salad of local produce and potatoes or fries. My father’s favorite is the octopus stew. Be prepared that the octopus and other seafood options depend on availability. The decor is comfy and older fashioned and you’re likely to be dining mostly with locals. As with all places in Mosteiros, the coffee and cakes are excellent. Ask for cafe American if you want a long espresso. The house wine is good and served extremely generously. The staff speak good English if you happen to be hopeless with Portuguese. I look forward to seeing reviews from other diners who give this a try. The seafood, copious wine, and coffee make this well worth the visit.
