I inquired and was told that the only vegan option available is the Istanbul helva. Sadly, there are no other vegan dishes on the menu.
I visited this restaurant for happy hour and it turned out to be a fantastic place. The waitress was incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English. She provided us with complimentary appetizers and explained the menu to us. I decided to try something new and ordered the helva, which I had never tried before. Although it was a bit pricey, the fact that it was labeled as vegan convinced me to give it a try. I believe it would be much more affordable outside of the tourist areas. However, the dish was absolutely delicious and definitely worth it.
Located in the old town next to the Tor Bazaar, this restaurant offers a variety of halva, some of which are clearly marked as vegan while others are not. The staff is happy to go through the ingredients and translate for customers. It is a great place to stop and pick up local treats as gifts or souvenirs.
I asked and they said only the Istanbul Helva is vegan. Unfortunately no other vegan options.
I came for Happy Cow and it looks like a great place. The lady was really friendly and spoke great English, offers us free samples and explains what was all. I tried something Helva because I didn't have it before. It was a bit expensive, but I went for it after I saw the 'vegan' label. I think it is much cheaper outside the tourist areas. It tastes amazing!
