We were on our way to New orleans and couldnt drive anymore so I fired up the tomtom to find a nice place to stay. Defuniak where? we read the reviews on hotel defuniak (gotta love mobile technology) and decided to stop. Thankfully it was early enough that the restaurant was still open, the food here is as good as any I’ve had (including NoLa) It’s very frenchish with some caribbean hints wrapped up in southern style... What goeurope doesn't like about Bogie's:
Casual fine dining with a total disregard for respect or quality service. We don’t know if the food is any good because after 2 hours, our dinner finally arrived COLD and we left without eating. The manager/bartender was not only unsympathetic but rude using profanity to a legitimate complaint presented in a professional and non-combative manner. I sure wish we lived closer, I would be a regular here. great food and attentive service. Try anything fish, you won’t regret it.
I have enjoyed many meals at the Hotel DeFuniak and have loved the hospitality of the staff. Always a cheerful hello, conscientious, professional staff, and delicious food. My favorite is the Grouper Lorenzo, a lump crab cake on top of sauteed grouper with bearnaise sauce, YUM! Don’t miss the Baked Brie appetizer with sliced fruit and strawberry preserves, it is pure heaven. I tried this restaurant because of Colleen Coffield’s review (please read) she gave it a 4 star rating – I give it a 5! One of my favorite places to visit over the years, I bring all my friends and clients here, it has proven to be outstanding time after time. Thank you owners Brad and Michelle Harding for providing our fair city with such a wonderful, charming place to enjoy a meal and celebrate with our loved ones. I look forward to many more years!

Breakfast was included in our room and was great as well. I wish our return travel plans had brought us by here on our way home. We will no doubt be back. Charles, NJ

The manager/bartender was not only unsympathetic but rude using profanity to a legitimate complaint presented in a professional and non-combative manner. While delays and problems happen in many restaurants – The best food in the world is terrible when it’s served cold, after 2 hours of waiting with poor and disrespectful service from employees and management. I will never return to a place that cares so little about their patrons dining experience.
