Le Cafe at Applespice Cottage

This charming cottage offers delightful Devonshire Teas with homemade scones and jams.

Everything a great Devonshire Tea requires: beautiful freshly baked scones, oodles of home made jams (selection of 3), heaps of fresh cream, lovely tea and coffee, friendly service and all at a great price. They sell other foods but we come here (repeatedly) for this indulgence. You are challenged to find better.

We are so very thankful we stumbled across this quaint cafe. The staff are lovely (owner/operated) with scones to boot.Dining is either inside or outside seating, we chose outside as it was a lovely afternoon. Love the decor and mix of tables and chairs, gives the cafe real character.We opted for 4 scones and a coffee. We had to wait a little, but the scones (including jam and cream) were all fresh.I cannot describe our surprise when the owner walked out with not one, not two, but three jams to accompany our scones. One was Fig, another was Blueberry/Plum and for the life of me l can't remember the third one. All delicious. And such a generous serving of fresh whipped cream. We were disappointed we had to leave behind some of the jams and cream, we wanted more scones but didn't have the room!If we ever come by on our travels again, this is definitely a must!

Lovely homemade food with homegrown ingredients. Limited menu but fresh and tasty. Friendly service. Great healthy alternative!

Stopped on my way through for afternoon tea and coffee. There is a varied menu to suit all needs and it's very nice to sit down and relax in the homey atmosphere of Le Cafe. Many other attractions in Bruthen to see as well
