Afous reminds me of the family style Italian restaurants that were so much more prevalent on the North Shore twenty years ago. You are greeted on arrival with a 'Welcome Home', and although that may seem a bit naf to some I very much enjoy the friendly service and the unpretentious but tasty food. Our group of 7 shared tapas entrees, a number of mains and some desserts for $60pp (not including wine, which is BYO only... View all feedback.

The kitchen is well varied between Spanish tapas and traditional Moroccan and juicy cooked lamb in daytime. the location is of course ideal for a romantic night near the Spit Bridge. but the thing that makes the experience acute is without doubt the hospitable friend of the workers who immediately feel at home from the beginning and keep them entertained. service is polite and attentive, without being intrusive. overall it was an excellent experience, food wise and service. highly recommended.
This place is phenomenal in a word. my man and I chose it for our jubilee dinner because it was close to where we were married, had beautiful water views, and the menu looked attraktiw. it wasn't disappointed. the number one at this place was the service. the hospitality of the owner and the courtesy of the waiter are simply incomparable from literally any other restaurant that I was in sydney. their friendly, happy settings are infectious, the whole place had the incredible jovial atmosphere. every table was full of people who smile! the ambiente in general is beautiful. eating was very good and approached great. our favorites were the scallops (I), the...read more

Wow, what a gem this restaurant is! With stunning views of the water, gorgeous food and wonderful service, it seems that this place can do no wrong! All around we could hear tables say how delicious the food was and every dish was polished clean, including ours, by the end. The menu is great for vegetarians, pescatarians and plenty of meat options they even had gluten free bread. For main, we had the lamb and it was wonderful. What I could not get past was how great the service was. Stepping inside and meeting Omar, who declares Welcome home and shakes your hand made a real impression. Our glasses were never empty and although it is busy, the staff ensured that we were very...read more
