new favorite place to eat and get drinks. eating was amazing! I have the south streetburger. the Pretzel-Back was perfect and the medium rare was beautiful and juicy. my man has the Taco trio. duck was very good. great combinations. design of the list was good and happy hour specials were good prices. there was also trivia, but we didn't play. we sat outside, which was nice. What User doesn't like about South Street:
This place was trying so hard to be iron bar with 1/8 of the crowd. Music is deafening but everyone’s mainly talking and standing around tables not dancing (read the room). If they didn’t try so hard to be a club and just decided to be a bar catering to people in their 20s, they wouldn’t have a tiny crowd with deafening music. View all feedback.
The service was ok until later in the night when it was just one guy at the bar for the entire place. He ended up just putting extra drinks on our tab i think he thought we were too drunk to notice but we just paid and left to not deal with it. This place is ok but watch out for getting over charged.
Rude bartender both times we have been there. Would not go back.
Only complaint I have is funny leave your drink on the bar. The bartenders will be quick to throw it out without asking if you are done with it. And it's not like the drinks are cheap.
I went here for my friends 28th birthday party and had been there once before and it was fun and enjoyable. This time, for the birthday, I brought my boyfriend who is black. After hanging out for a while we went up to talk to the DJ, and a bouncer, the owner, and another man approached me and tried to escort us out. First, I was completely cohesive and did not order one drink at this bar, and was being escorted out. I complied but I asked if I could get my sweatshirt and tell my friends I was leaving. This was not allowed and caused them to try to pull and push me out. I told them not to touch me and got called a homophobic slur. My boyfriend was asked to leave first, however, and was able to go downstairs to get his glasses. After thinking about it and reading reviews from others, we came to the conclusion the establishment is incredibly racist and that is why we were removed. This business is not worth supporting. To make matters worse, I was unable to get the sweatshirt so had to come back the next morning. The owner was extremely abrasive towards us, i.e calling me a big baby and shouting things about himself to invalidate what we went through. The reason we were kicked out, as was explained to us, was that we were too drunk and endangering ourselves. As I said before, I did not drink at the bar, and remember the entire night and enjoying myself. This was racially motivated and I do not recommend, no matter how drunk you are, supporting this business.
This bar is awful. Super racist if you aren 't white. My buddy and I came to it and asked for a table. Plenty of room. They waited to see if they would admit us and then ultimately put us in the back most seat next to the bathroom. No one came to serve us for 15 min while every other table had waiters. We tried to leave but saw people ordering at the bar. We thought oh maybe we are doing this wrong . Tried to go to the bar and immediately they shut it down saying it was a covid issue. Sent back to the back. At this point just wanted to tell someone I make more than $250K a year and embarass them. Success!! Treated like a disease then ordered the expensive drinks. Glad you served some white people Miller at the expense of my 12 year old scotch and me telling anyone not white to never come
