I made this trip to Morrison with friends who went to the park in front of Honestly, I was so out of the rustic setting that I was ready to make the trip regardless of the quality of the meal. That was such a beautiful experience. The location is simply perfect.. a large veranda overlooking the lake in all directions. Ceiling fans and transverse brisks keep it comfortable and the variety of styles in table chairs is really a very local touch. The small staff was as pleasant as possible. Our waitress had great suggestions for our decisions and was really interested in seeing that we enjoyed our meal. The real surprises of the day were the menu choices and the quality of the food. From past experience I know that most rural, rustic diners have a limited menu with average reviews. I had seen the online menu of this restaurant a few seasons ago and expected that my meatless choices were extremely limited, but was more than ready to go with our friends for the day. Wow! New ownership/management has put REALLY up here. The menu, while still based Burger/Sandwich/Salad, included a few HOMEMADE meatless Burger options (the Kichererbsburger was excellent!, as well as several interesting salads. We all ordered the fantastic onion rings, which were served with the cook's own Marina Sauce, a very clever and tasty alternative to the more common diving sauce offered. The homemade dessert of choice at our table was the Strawberry Rhabarb Cbbler (if you were warmed up and served with ice and whipped cream? that also good reviews. After we come to our waitress several times to my pleasant surprise about the menu options and the food quality, we were happy to chat with us the Chef, Owner, Manager. Mary Kay is the reason why this venue gets a 5-star rating. It is charming and has created an unexpected experience at Marina Restaurant. We'll take the long ride back, but next time we'll go for the food and the view.

Fantastic jewel! Everything we had was excellent! I can highly recommend the Marina Mocha (seriously one of the best mochas I ever had), the Derby Pie (like a brownie in a cake crust), all Cobbler, the Saucy Bird Sandwich, Onion Rings and the Marina Sauce that stuff is awesome! Waitstaff is super friendly and the owner. We'll make sure we come back in town next time!
