**A Customer's Take on Meat Plus: A Mixed Bag**

Nestled in the bustling heart of SBMA, Meat Plus aims to satisfy meat lovers with a unique ordering system that allows diners to choose their cuts directly from a freezer. However, opinions diverge widely. While some diners laud its extensive selection and proper seasoning, others criticize dry patties and uninspired sides. Dessert offerings fell short, such as a cold apple pie with soggy crust. The atmosphere evokes a fast-food vibe, detracting from the steakhouse experience. Despite the inconsistencies, the swift service and ample parking make it a potentially rewarding stop for families and meat enthusiasts alike.

The atmosphere felt more like McDonald's than a steakhouse, with prices to match. The portions of meat were quite small—my ribeye, which cost 765 pesos, was only 1/8 inch thick. The vegetables were primarily corn and other high-glycemic options, which was disappointing. The overall vibe was loud and uninviting, reminiscent of a brightly lit fast-food restaurant, making it unsuitable for a relaxing dinner. While they do offer nice cuts of US beef in the freezer, the idea of microwaving my meat to thaw it before cooking is far from appealing for various reasons. I would love to see larger, fresher cuts of meat, a more subdued ambiance, and a better-crafted bar menu that you'd typically find in a steakhouse.

At this restaurant, you can select your own cut of meat from a freezer display. The ribeye is a popular choice, priced at around Php 1750 per kilogram. However, you'll need to pay an extra Php 120 for cooking and sides. The ribeye we saw looked freezer-burned, so we decided to go with their rice plate meals instead. The ribeye plate costs Php 475 for approximately 140g. In my opinion, it lacked seasoning. While it had nice grill marks, it didn't have that charred flavor you expect—likely cooked on a griddle rather than over a hot, smoky grill. The beef belly was extremely tender, but again, it was under-seasoned, and even the fries were bland. I suppose serving food this way allows it to cater to individual preferences. As for dessert, the apple pie was served cold and had a cheesy crumble. The apples were crisp, but the bottom crust was soggy. On a positive note, the service was impressively fast; considering it was Sunday lunchtime, our dishes arrived in less than 10 minutes.

We went to MeatPlus Cafe at Subic last May 5, as a part of our Educational Tour 1 at Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The service was on point they immediately prepared our tables when we came. The food was very tasty and will surely satisfy the carnivore within you, partnered with their classic cucumber juice. Other amenities such as comfort rooms are well sanitized and are very comfortable. Overall it was a great experience and I hope I can come back soon.
