Great food, lots of options, good service, easy parking, good to have a meal and then relax in the beer garden.
Took some out of state family here for a meal tonight. On entering, the restaurant I could not hear the waitress due to the excessive noise coming from the public bar. Asked to be seated as far away from the noise as possible but we struggled to hold a conversation. Table service was very good. Meals looked great. My gripe is I ordered a rib fillet. I no matter where I go order a rib fillet, so I know the cut very well. My steak was meant to be medium, it was more well done, but I struggled with it anyhow, as it was a very long wait for the meals to be served. Though I found the cut to be excessively fatty and tough. I mentioned this to the waitress and said maybe she could let the chef know. He told her that it's just the way that cut is. Now like I said, I have been eating that cut for years. I as a customer, who informs you that that was a terrible piece would expect as a minimum an apology. Not made out to be a inexperienced foodie. For $39.00 I expected better, otherwise I could of gone to the tingalpa, the wynnum or the Belmont, and spent $10 less. And to be honest, their steaks are a hell of a lot tastier. This is the 2nd time this place has lacked, and I will not be back, due to the cooks arrogant response and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. Otherwise the staff looking after our table were very attentive. A shame about everything else.
We went to the Colmslie for a Friday night meal. Started off by having our entree taken. The waitress rolled her eyes at us and had a horrible attitude from the get go. I ordered the $39 reef and beef. I ordered my steak rare and it turned up medium to well. I wouldn't normally complain but i did due to the price. It came back SO rare that my steak was freezing cold in the middle. I am not usually over the top picky but it was ridiculous. My partner told me not to eat it as he was worried i would get sick because it was so cold. Our waitress name was ZITA and i will NOT ever be coming back due to how RUDE she was to our table. Felt absolutely uncomfortable and like we were not wanted there.
The restaurant features spacious indoor and outdoor areas for enjoying drinks and meals. It boasts a full bar with a variety of beers on tap, including local craft selections, as well as an extensive list of bottled beers. This spot is a favorite gathering place after work, particularly among the local Irish community. The outdoor area is dog-friendly, equipped with a big screen TV, and surrounded by vibrant plants that create a serene atmosphere away from the suburban hustle.
Our lunch dishes were adequate and served in generous portions. Prices ranged from $20 to $30, and table service was provided for both drinks and meals. It wasn't a place we would eagerly return to, but it served its purpose. The service was a bit lacking at times, but there were no delays once our order was placed.
