Was Anonym at Kaldi Cafe a mag?
We visited this cafe today after doing a quick walk around the Coventry Village markets looking for a nice place to have a coffee. We came across the Kaldi Cafe and were very delighted with the colourful, comfy chairs to relax in and the coffee was great. We enjoyed some delicious fruit toast with our coffees. They serve breakfasts, light lunches with rolls, quiches, sandwiches etc. There are a nice selection of cake... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Kaldi Cafe:
We used to love the coffee here so much that our daughter bought us gift vouchers. The coffee has recently changed from strong and flavourful to nothing but a coloured milky drink. I have in the past written a glowing review, but could not recommend...More View all feedback.

We will be back :) I noticed that the local staff at the markets visit this cafe so it is popular.

I ordered there big breakfast meal and a chai latte. Everything was warm and in insipid, the toast was dry and hard even the eggs which were cooked to order were just warm. Would I go back again, hell no.

I used to take my little boy there every week. I'd have a coffee, he'd have a cookie or slice or whatever. After so many visits, I rarely got a smile or even a greeting! I don't expect staff to kiss my butt or anything, but I've worked enough hospitality jobs to know that pleasant service goes a long way. In the end, I felt like the owner didn't want me there because my son left too many crumbs or something he was a toddler. So we stopped going. Get coffee at Diverso now (also in Coventry Village), and the owner is so nice. And the coffee is better!

I'm not sure what happened at this restaurant. Maybe there was a change in ownership or a new chef? I ordered a basic chicken and salad sandwich and it was the worst thing I've ever been served at a cafe. The chicken seemed fake, the lettuce was slimy and drowning in mayo, and the cucumbers were squished flat from being toasted. The coffee wasn't great either.
