A nice Cajun restaurant and bar, always great food with excellent service. I would highly recommend for a fantastic dinner, and fun place to go with friends and family
The fried pickles were great! My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich, and I chose the Cajun combo, which came with red beans and rice as well as Jambalaya. The red beans and rice were tasty, but unfortunately, the Jambalaya was just rice—no meat or vegetables at all. I'm not sure if this is typical for this restaurant, but it definitely needed those additional ingredients to make it worthwhile.
The food is hit or miss; sometimes it’s great, and other times it falls short. On my last visit, I ordered a chicken salad but didn’t receive the chicken. When I pointed it out to my server while she was giving us the bill, she offered to pack up the chicken for me to take home? It feels like these kinds of issues happen more often than they should. The restaurant is always busy, but given the limited dining options in the area, I understand why.
This was one of the worst examples of Cajun cuisine I have ever encountered. I tried the gumbo, and it was disgusting—just a heavy taste of gumbo filé (sassafras root), which was terrible. My husband had the crawfish étouffée, and it tasted like nothing more than crushed tomatoes. I was genuinely surprised by how unauthentic it was. The atmosphere felt more authentic than the food itself. I felt like bringing them a real bowl of gumbo so they could understand what authentic Cajun food is supposed to taste like. To be honest, I was offended. Some people think Cajun food is just a trend, but what I experienced was truly disappointing. This comes from a genuine Louisiana Cajun woman.
