Very good reception in this charming hotel. Beautifully decorated and soundproofed room. Our bikes have been supported and stored for free. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, friendly service. Copious breakfast and good. Very good price for the benefits offered. An address I recommend. View all feedback.
What Odette Fleury doesn't like about Au Coin du Feu:
No reception, we waited hour before finally having a code to enter and retrieve the room key. Housekeeping not done in the room. The trash still contained the waste of the previous occupants. Dirty and wobbly baby bed. Breakfast far from nine euros ... Cleaning not done in the dining room. And finally we are explicitly asked for cash to pay because the TPE is down ... Strange .... For this price we can do a lot bette... View all feedback.
A nice leisurely meal of great quality. Friendly people and our best meal in the holiday. We returned for our final meal of the holiday because we liked it so much and because being part of the hotel it was open on a Monday.
My wife and I were staying locally in the Rhone-Alpes, near the town of Morestel. For our final night we needed to find a reasonably priced restaurant serving local food.We know of the Hotel de France years ago and previously had a good experience before the new renovations. As this is a hotel, the restaurant is open most days unlike a lot of restaurants in the area which are closed for some or all of August. The design of the inside exposed the old hotel walls with bright colours and all was nicely lit in the evening. We ordered from the set menus both for about 26euro, with the local Bugey wine also on offer starting at 16euro a bottle with half bottles available. My wife had the "Coin du Feu" menu, with a fried brie type cheese and salad to start, the grilled salmon in lemon juice, cooked perfectly, for main, with the obligatory fromage blanc, and a chocolate mousse for desert.I had the "Savoyarde" menu, which was excellent, three separate small dishes of typical mountain staples, including Tartiflette (creamed potato, melted cheese and ham bake), Croziflette (cubed creamed pasta, cheese and lardons) and a mini cheese fondue, served with assorted sliced meats and salad. A great introduction to Isere/Savoie food, you must try it, although you will not be able to finish. Desert was 3 boules of liquor ice cream, local Gineppe and Chatreuse (produced in the nearby mountain range). The service was good with the waitress quickly adapting to my shambolic french pronounciation of some of the menu items! The only point I would make is that as this is a hotel, you take a chance regarding how intimate the setting will be for couples, you may be lucky and have a quiet evening, however we had two families with kids around us which made for a little intrusion on our evening, but not too much of a problem.Total cost 80euro. Well recommended
A bit of an artificial furnishing and decoration of the restaurant, but it offers a reasonable price/quality.
We were surprised by the quality of food and portions. I had my first "tartiflette". What a delight. Great service and ambiance.
Nice but small hotel. Every room is different but ours was pretty good. Bathroom was a little old but clean. Every room is equipped with an AC which is relay needed in the summertime.
