Breakfast was great. Although lacking a lot in the atmosphere department. That should change though if word gets out about the food. Quiet is sometimes good too, so if that's your thing and you want to read the Sunday paper, give Sam's a shot. The poached eggs, smoked salmon on muffins with hollandaise was five star. For something different I thought I'd try the Dip Trio and unfortunately wished I hadn't. They were all bland and tasteless except for the Tzaziki Dip which had so much garlic in it that you could have used it to keep Vampires at bay. Suffice...More View all feedback.
Sam is always there and very helpful with good recommendations. The pizzas, the calamaris... everything is good, and the service is 5 stars

I realise that background noise can give some degree of privacy, but Sam's is designed for the noise to carry. It has hard floors and walls and the kitchen is open to the dining area. I found the staff and other patrons talking, cooking and coffee noises, plus the TV and the music a bit overwhelming. My coffee was just ordinary and although they had a fridge full of water bottles, the waitress did not offer any.
Good food for the family and reasonably priced. My son ordered the big breakfast and couldn't finish it...normally he leaves nothing behind.
We popped in here after a trip in the city. We decided to have pizza and wine. While the waiter was a bit too friendly, the pizza was terrible. We thought we would try the gourmet pizza selection.Well, how disappointing. It was burnt and very dried out. We haven't been to this cafe for a couple of years because of our last experience. The same, not very pleasing pizzas. But thought we would give them another go, mind you there is so much choice along Keilor Road Niddrie that I am sorry we chose Sam's. They just don't seem to get it right.Even though it was only 4.45pm, not busy at all, thought we would have got a nice pizza. Didn't want to complain because the waiter was being too friendly and made you feel uncomfortable if you did complain.
