at our last two visits in lugano we have eaten in the canvetto federale and have come very happy from each other. the seasonal menu is written on a table and our meal times were of high quality and taste. some of the best cooked fish I've ever eaten. the personal tried to teach us and our lack of Italian, we tried very hard to learn some new Italian words to read the menu! very recommended here. Went there yesterday for a Sunday lunch with my friends. The food is delicious. They put the best ingredients together to serve you tasty typical meals. Very generous portions and a quick and professional service. If you want to dine with fondue chinoise, you need to let them know when you reserve your table.

I've known this place for many years, and I have to say that I always leave the natives completely satisfied. it is a cozy and very typical Swiss Italian local that makes home-specificity from meat dishes. I would highly recommend to go for the saddle in autumn for which they must call and book in advance. good quality and generous portions, as a matter of fact, I fought to finish the saddle that is served in the rule in two rounds. when I go in the summer, I usually take the ribs that are also good. the same can be said for steaks. the prices correspond to the average value of the region and, in my opinion, are fair when they take into account the size of the portions and the quality of the meat. I recommend this place very, but please make sure to book a table especially in the weekend nights, as the locals are not so big and the demand of customers is quite high!
Probably the highest quality of wild meat ever had; salmi di capriolo was just above the tip, porcini mushrooms, which are a local delicacies and polnta are served with the delicate meat. we also had a very nice first with lardo di colonelnata, salami and...ham really a great one. it is worth visiting for everyone who loves local traditional cuisine.
