Very good attention, very good and abundant food to be a menu and a very cozy restaurant, thanks to the waitress for the exquisite treatment towards us and thanks for wishing us a good trip on our return to Malagasy
Our friends live in Morata and we visted El Cid to celebrate my wifes birthday, First we visited the Civil War Museum, which was excellent. I could have spent hours in there! As a Scot it was sad and a little eerie to recognise the Scots that had fought at Jarama after reading about them. Fantastic museum, a must do. Food wise, we had squid and chiperones, then I shares w hole rabbit cooked in garlic and I mean whole, head and all whilst my wife had beautiful succulent lamb (all personal favourites of my wife and I). Washed down with a decent Rioja, we thoroughly enjoyed it! Recommended if you are in the town or nearby visiting the site of the battle of Jarama.
Nice and cozy restaurant. The food was great. Remember to make your reservation on their website. I recommend.
Every year the Meson El Cid has catered for multiple busloads at an excellent price. They have rotated the main course of a five course feast between chicken and lamb, always delicious, and surprisingly quickly delivered. The only bad experience was the time a waiter tried to tell me I should have had my beer for free, but due to his speaking no English, and my Spanish being negligible, I thought he was really angry with me and thought I had left the bar without paying I have no idea how he interpreted my protestations of innocence before somebody down the table had enough English to intermediate!
