What User doesn't like about Woodman Estate Lakeside Dining:
the mothers day high tea experience would have been ok, if we weren't greeted with such a lack of respect by a man at the door. Our 6 year old barely eats so we didn't think it would be necessary to order for him, which even though it may have been naive and wrong of us, a little more decorum on the subject would have been better when being informed. For our main courses, we chose two of the four options: salmon and beef. Both dishes were excellent, although we weren't asked how we preferred our salmon cooked. One portion was overcooked, while the other was rare. The beef, on the other hand, was cooked perfectly as we had requested. For dessert, we all opted for the apple filo pastry, which we thoroughly enjoyed for both its presentation and taste. Overall, the venue...
The decor felt outdated, and when we attempted to open the window at our table, the lock was broken, causing the sash to hang awkwardly and making it difficult to open properly. Given that there were only two other couples dining in the brasserie, it felt surprising that the service and ambiance were lacking.
My fiancée and I visited Woodman Estate for the first time tonight to celebrate our long-awaited date night (thanks, COVID!). We had an amazing experience. The food was excellent, and we really enjoyed the variety of flavors, especially knowing that many ingredients came from their own garden. The staff was fantastic as well. We will definitely be back!
We came to the picturesque woodman to have a high tee for a chicken day. the walk through the gardens is a beautiful introduction to the place. eating was nice, filling and service was pretty good. the place was quiet for a Saturday afternoon, so it was a peaceful day. The vintage property is a thing to go alone, even if they don't like eating.
Step back in time and old school it up, nice to do occasionally. Food was good, don't expect trendy, modern takes just period food which fits the setting. Staff were very nice just not hospitality professionals.
