The wait was long. But once seated the service was quick and the food came out pretty quickly too. Loved the big outside tables with benches this is definitely a family friendly restaurant that has something to offer to everyone. View all feedback.
What Orin Wehner doesn't like about Bavarian Bier Cafe Entertainment Quarter:
We visited the Bavarian for lunch on a sunny April day, ordering burgers and drinks. The burgers were delicious and highly recommended. Nice range of German and local beers (I remember the selection being larger in the past). The big let down was a 45...minute wait for food service. Clearly understaffed during a holiday period, the management should know better. The food is also overpriced. Disappointing. View all feedback.
What an appalling overpriced meal! The wine was dreadful - made all the more insulting by it's $38 prince tag. Our meals -which were taking so long to arrive, I had to speak to a waiter, were cold and undercooked. Although my partner requested as medium rare was still difficult to cut (ie tough) and the garlic butter solid. My 'naturally raised' lamb (what is unnaturally raised lamb) ordered medium was raw in the middle - we were given a 50% discount on this meal when I commented about this to the waiter - but the bill was still almost $100. Not really good enough.
Great food with very family friendly and fast service very good beer selection very good menu with good selection of meats and sausages comfortable and clean Love the lamps
Expensive for what it is, with small serving sizes, and poor service. On the positive side, the food and beer are tasty. If more thought was put into the menu, and the service was improved, this place would be busy every night, not just on weekends. I won't be rushing back.
Went to the Bavarian Bier Cafe at the Entertainment Quarter for a nice relaxed dinner before a movie. Unfortunately it was not very relaxed, it took ages to order a drink then after ordering the meals we decided we would order some wine. After the waiter confirming if it was a bottle or glasses of wine he went off to order. Our main meal came and no wine. By this stage we had pretty much finished dinner and decided to cancel the wine as we needed to get to the movie and didn't want to rush the wine! After cancelling it, 2 minutes later the bottle of wine showed up with 2 glasses. We explained we had cancelled the order and they offered it to us free of charge but this was not the point we wanted it with our dinner! Then when we asked for the bill they gave us a nice cheap bill for 2 drinks and a pretzel but no main meals! As much as I wanted to just pay this for their incompetence we advised them that this was incorrect and they fixed it however they ended up then giving us that bill off the total bill!! It's a real shame that this place doesn't have good management and staff as it really has great potential being one of the very few choices of restaurants at the entertainment quarter. The only reason for the extra star rating was because the food was actually nice!
This restaurant had been a favourite of ours and friends in the past yet today it was poor on all fronts. Staff attire was poor as our waitress was exposing more of herself than most would want to see. Beers were not full, coffees were cold and our strudel was burnt.Standards have definitely dropped.
